Also, they have more loose "dewlap" which is the skin that hangs under their chin and their underside. Simmental cattle are large with heavy bone structure. If my memory serves me right, believe a mature Simmental cow can weigh up to 1,600 pounds or even more. A mature Simmental bulls usually weighs somewhere between 2,300 and 2,800 pounds. In contrast, a mature Hereford bull may weigh up to about 1,800 pounds. A mature Hereford cow may weigh in at around 1,200. For me, Herefords just look smaller but stocky.
