If a rustler tries to steal my horses or cattle or even if bandits or Indians sneak up to my cabin, I'm gonna need a lot of firepower. I'll have a Colt Single Action Army revolver, a double-barreled shotgun, a Winchester rifle, a Smith and Wesson New Model 3, a hunting knife, a Colt Dragoon revolver, a flintlock pistol, a derringer, and a tomahawk because I wanna show my enemy that I mean business. But if I really wanna scare them, I'll have a muzzleloader or a cannon because that'll really do the trick. Lots of threats means lots of firepower. But for modern day threats, I'll just go with the basic three: The .357 Magnum Colt Python revolver, the Remington 800 pump action shotgun, and the AK-47. And don't even ask me why I went with the last option. It's just a personal choice of mine. Either that or a Marlin rifle. I don't care. However I wanna defend my home. But knowing how to use a gun does give you a sense of security. Even in your tightest of situations. And I would never go anywhere without one. So to answer your question, yes I would carry a gun. It just depends on whether or not I'm gonna need it. And I hope I don't have to use it. Because it's much better to have it and not need it than it is to need it and not have it. Just saying.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2632055767270986594.post-35000796141580668372018-08-11T15:58:09.993-07:002018-08-11T15:58:09.993-07:00Hi Tom, long time no talk to! But the majority of the training is how to take the gun apart, place it near a bed so that it can be reached for and fired without turning on a light. Then there is how to "backlight" anyone who may enter without permission. And last but not least....how to fire lying down on each side. Was also on a riflery team AND fired Muzzleloader matches. Glad to see you are still out there..........have missed your articles. Going to have to catch up!
