RANDOM SHOTS - Americans Want To Know, Racoons Attack, Liberal Love Fest For Obama, and More!

FIRST SHOT!

Americans Want To Know!

My readers are asking me all sorts of questions. Most questions are important to what's going on today, especially with the economy in the trouble it is in.

Sure I get a question asking me if Wyatt Earp was really arrested in Illinois for being a pimp, or if Wild Bill Hickok was really known as Duck Bill?

Sure I get the questions about why I hate Communism or Terrorists so much? Believe it or not, I've had some who've written me asking me why I believe in America so much?

Yes, I get a lot of e-mail from all over the place. And yes, though it is great, it is bothering in that there seems to be one common theme running through most e-mails.

There seems to be an overwhelming distrust in the Obama White House, the Democrat Party, and the Liberal Media. It seems that all seem to being working in concert with each other - against the good of the nation.

It seems that people can't believe what is coming out of the President's mouth - especially when he comes up with things like his latest argument that American businesses didn't take smart, dedicated, hard working people - but instead American businesses were built because of the government.

Like many of you, I can't believe that he said that the credit for America's promise goes to the Federal Government and its bureaucracy. One political pundit said, the President should learn how to be American.

I can't help but wonder if that it the basic problem today. And yes, Americans want to know why he is so anti-business, anti-success, anti-achievement, anti-American?

Why is it that Obama campaign is after Romney to release his records for everything, while Obama refuses to. It's true, most want to know why has Obama has sealed all of these records?

* His kindergarten records
* His attendance to a private school, Punahou school records
* His Occidental College records
* His Columbia University records
* His Columbia thesis
* His Harvard Law School records
* His Harvard Law Review articles
* His Scholarly articles from the University of Chicago
* His Passport
* His medical records
* His files from when he was an Illinois state senator
* His Illinois State Bar Association records

Let's be honest, the man is a mystery and people still voted for him.

And unfortunately for Obama supporters who don't want any more information to surface than has to, Americans really want to know about Obama this time around because many think it's been a giant hoax!

But it's not only Obama that people ask about! Americans want to know why they are labeled "racist," or worse "white supremacist," whenever they disagree with Obama or members of his administration?

Yes, they have a lot of questions that no one seems to be answering.

Such as, why do we support the United Nations since it is corrupt and not working in our best interest? Why sign the UN Small Arms Treaty since it goes against our Constitution and subsequently the rights of citizens of this country?

And yes, people are asking other things, like why are we still paying out Foreign Aid to countries that are rich, unfriendly to us, or so corrupt that the money never gets to where it should go but instead in lining the pockets of dictators and sheiks?

Americans want to know why people say, "you're singing to the choir"- when even the choir is entitled to a song now and then?

Americans want to know why our country is in the pickle that we're in, yet politicians give themselves raises and corruption seems to be at an all time high?

They want to know when Federal Agencies stopped working for Americans and started working against Americans through more regulation and fines and in some cases arrests and seizure of assets?

They want to know why the EPA is over-reaching its authority and hampering the economy? They want to know why the IRS has involvement in Health Care penalties? They want to know why?

Why is the IRS investigating members of the Tea Party? Who's idea was that? Is it Federal Government intimidation?

They want to know where are all of the so-called "Green Jobs" after so many taxpayer dollars has been poured into that technology? Why are so-called "Green Companies" taking taxpayer money and not producing cheaper alternative energy or methods to produce energy?

Why is it that America is not using our own natural resources like our own oil? And yes, they want to know why the the Keystone XL Pipeline was not approved? Why not, when it could have produced thousands of jobs and made America less dependant on Middle-East oil?

Americans want to know why can't the federal government find where most of the almost $800 Billion in Stimulus money went to? Why did the White House leak some of America's most vital Military Secrets, yet won't release the Fast and Furious documentation?

They want to know why the Fast and Furious documentation is now covered by Executive Privilege? They want to know what the Obama White House is hiding?

There is one big question on the minds of many out there - why did ObamaCare have to encompass all Americans when it really just needed to address those needing health care?

I guess we will never know many of the answers to these questions. It seems that we can't get straight answers from the Obama White House, Democrats in charge of one half of Congress, or the Lliberal Media.

SECOND SHOT!

Raccoons Attack Washington State Woman

The attack landed a 28-year-old jogger in the hospital!

I've never heard of such a thing. I had no idea that raccoons would do this.

A woman from Lakewood, Washington, was chased and mauled by several raccoons near Fort Steilacoom Park, south of Seattle, on Monday, July 16th.

The attack left her with about 100 scratches, punctures and bite wounds! Imagine that!

Around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Michaela Lee, age 28, was jogging with her dog near her home at the edge of the park when her dog got loose and started chasing some raccoons. It turns out that the raccoons included a mama raccoon and her babies, said Lt. Chris Lawler with Lakewood Police.

Her dog chased the raccoons up a tree. When Lee went to fetch her dog, more raccoons came out of the brush and began chasing her. Lee took off running with at least five raccoons chasing after her.

"I felt like they were hunting me, 'taking me down' pack mentality. There were five of them," said Lee.

She made it about 75 feet to a neighbor's yard where she was knocked down to the ground and actually mauled by the vicious raccoons.

A witness said he saw three really big raccoons attacking Lee while she was on the ground and he yelled for help.

Lee's dog, Madison, also helped scare off the raccoons. The attack lasted about 15 to 20 seconds before she was able to get away.

Lee was transported by ambulance to a hospital. She ended up with about 100 wounds, consisting of scratches, scrapes and puncture wounds. About 16 to 18 were puncture or bite wounds.

"It's kind of surreal," said Lee. "The kind of thing you'd see in a movie."

Lee is worried about the next person who might get attacked.

"We have elderly neighbors who walk their dogs through here. People bring their little kids. What would they do?" asked Ms Lee.

While Michaela Lee is not afraid of heading back into the woods, she does say she will be better prepared for the raccoons.

"I'll have some bear mace with me," she said.

Lakewood Police said there has not been any other reported problems with raccoons in the park or in the city. An Animal Control spokesman said he believes this was a case of a mother raccoon trying to protect her young and not an unprovoked attack.

Animal Control adds it is rare for raccoons to carry rabies and they are more of a threat to dogs with canine distemper than anything else. Thank goodness for that!

Chocolate Bull Welcomes Rodeo Fans at Calgary's Airport

A bull coming in at 880-pounds is not a bad size bull, especially when it's all chocolate.

Arrive at Canada’s Calgary International Airport, and yes, you will see an 880-pound, near life-size bull made entirely of chocolate.

Created by Calgary-based Chocolaterie Bernard Callebaut, the bull is a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the Calgary Stampede, an annual 10-day rodeo and entertainment extravaganza that runs this year through July 15.

About 400,000 Rodeo fans converge in Calgary each year for the Stampede and Tourism Calgary president/CEO Randy Williams estimates that close to 10% of those folks are from the United States.

To help welcome the Calgary Stampede bound rodeo fans, Calgary International Airport gets gussied up with hay bales, fences and painted windows and schedules contests, sidewalk sales and entertainment.

The 880 pound chocolate bull is new this year, but should be kicking around for years to come. "We are hoping to shellac it and keep it for future stampede decorations," said Jody Moseley, director of corporate communications and marketing for the Calgary Airport Authority. "It’s beautiful, chocolate art."

For me, Calgary is one of those places on my list of where I'd love to visit. From the people who I've met from that area, I'm sure the people are great and the place is just a whole lot of fun waiting there.

As for the chocolate bull? Well, the news story is legit. But there's no tasting allowed, and the story says - that's no bull!

FOURTH SHOT!

File Under Not Funny: Democrats Advise Obama To Raise Taxes In 2013

This from the yesterday, and honestly, I think this again shows how out of touch the Democrats truly are.

Senate Democrats appear willing to use your paycheck to play political hardball on taxes unless Republicans agree to President Obama's plan to raise taxes on America's top earners.

A top Senate Democrat warned Monday that, if Republicans don't relent, her caucus is willing to let all the Bush-era tax rates expire at the end of the year - in effect threatening to let the country fall off what many in Washington call the "fiscal cliff."

That cliff is approaching at the start of 2013, when the Bush tax cuts are set to expire and billions of dollars in automatic spending cuts - spawned by last summer's debt-ceiling debate - are set to take effect. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are hoping to shift around those spending cuts to spare key areas like defense, and to temporarily extend the Bush tax rates for at least some Americans. Some have warned a failure to do so could send the nation back into recession.

But Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., indicated Democrats are willing to let the deadline pass in order to better their negotiating position.

In the remarks, Murray explained that if all the tax cuts expire, then that will diminish the GOP argument that the Democratic plan is tantamount to a tax hike -- because come 2013, any change to the tax code would be a tax cut.

"We will have a new fiscal and political reality," Murray said. "If the Bush tax cuts expire, every proposal will be a tax cut proposal and the pledge (to not raise taxes) will no longer keep Republicans boxed in and unable to compromise."

The political strategy underscores how heated the debate over the Bush tax cuts has become, and how risky it is for the American people.

President Obama is pushing for an extension of the rates only for American households making less than $250,000, and a tax hike for those earning more than that.

Obama's Democrat allies in Congress only want to pass that partial, one-year extension. Republicans only want to pass an extension that continues those rates for everyone. Each side is accusing the other of threatening to trigger tax hikes in 2013.

Not surprisingly, Murray, who openly made the threats in her speech Monday, also pre-emptively argued that Republicans would be to blame if that happens.

She suggested that if Republicans don't negotiate to her party's liking on the automatic spending cuts - known in Washington as the "sequestration" - set to take effect at the start of next year, her party would let those cuts happen, too.

"So anyone who tells you sequestration is going to simply disappear because both sides want to avoid it is either fooling themselves, or trying to fool you. It is going to have to be replaced, and that replacement is going to have to be balanced," Murray said.

Republicans claim Democrats are the ones standing in the way of relief for millions of Americans. In the Republicans' weekly radio address, Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, accused Obama of pushing a tax hike that will hurt employment.

"Raising taxes on employers and the middle class, growing government at the expense of free enterprise, piling on new regulations that increase the cost of doing business -- these burdens make it harder, not easier, to create jobs in America," he said.

Portman also said, "Today, instead of lifting the burden on job creators, the President is once again calling for a massive tax increase on nearly 1 million small businesses that employ tens of millions of Americans. I guess he still thinks the private sector is doing just fine. Well, the private sector is not fine. And raising taxes on job creators during a jobs shortage makes about as much sense as cutting off the water supply during a drought."

Americans are having a hard time making ends meet these days, higher taxes from Democrats is the last thing we need.

FIFTH SHOT!

Farmer says Arkansas drought turns cattle ranch into 'desert'

In Arkansas severe drought has turned pasture into "desert," threatening the future of the cattle ranching industry there.

Drought now covers more than half of the lower 48 states, but few have it as rough as Arkansas. There the entire state is listed as suffering from lower than average precipitation.

"It's just devastating," cattle rancher Karen Haralson told NBC News. Having never seen her land this barren, she compares her ranch to "a desert."

Haralson has had to sell 100 of her 250 cows and ranchers across drought-hit areas are all doing about the same. It's a sorry trend that could raise beef prices next year, when fewer cows will be around to sell. But worse, it just might be the end for some ranches.

Forecasters say four to six inches of rain are needed to end the drought in Arkansas. Some rain is likely over the next few days, but there's nothing that significant on the horizon.

Indeed, drought conditions have only expanded and intensified in recent weeks, according to the weekly Drought Monitor compiled by the National Weather Service.

The service's Seasonal Drought Outlook for July-September offered little reason for hope. Arkansas was among the states were drought conditions were expected to persist.

For Karen Haralson and other ranchers, it is a dire situation with no help to be found. Yes, there is a real possibility of that many there will go bust.

"If no significant rain comes," she said, "I'll have to go out of business."

I know that these folks are as resilient as the land itself, but the Federal Government - the Obama Administration - just might want to help these hard hit folks by declaring hard hit states "disaster areas".

At least then, that may help them hold off bankruptcy - or worse foreclosure!

SIXTH SHOT!

George W. Bush Institute launches book on Economic Growth

A report out of Dallas, Texas, today, said the George W. Bush Institute is launching its first book.

The book features experts weighing in on ways to jump start the economy. And yes, it is a prescription to push the U.S. toward 4% Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth.

The former president writes the foreword for "The 4 Percent Solution: Unleashing the Economic Growth America Needs," which will be released Tuesday.

President Bush is set to give brief remarks at an event Tuesday evening in Dallas featuring several of those who contributed to the book.

James K. Glassman, executive director of the Bush Institute, said that the book - which includes entries by five Nobel Prize winners - is part of "The 4 Percent Growth Project" launched last year with a goal to "change the conversation in America so that it focuses on the goal of sustainable, strong growth."

"We think that the way to solve the economic problems that America faces can be summed up in 4 percent growth. Right now we're growing about at 2 percent. We've grown an average of about 3 percent since the end of World War II," said Glassman, who wrote the book's introduction.

Economic growth is one of the Bush Institute's focal points, along with education, global health and freedom.

The institute and the presidential library will be housed at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, which is under construction on the campus of Southern Methodist University.

Now before someone out there starts writing me how it's ALL his fault that our economy is in the trouble it is in today, let's look at some real facts.

There were two recessions during Bush's eight years in office, the first was a mild downturn that began in March 2001, just after he took office, and lasted eight months.

The second began in December 2007, one year after Nancy Pelosi's Congress took over and started their huge spending spree that put us in this hole we're in.

It ended in June of 2009, months after he left office. It has since become known as the Great Recession, the longest and deepest since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

"While the causes of the 2008 crisis will be debated by scholars for decades to come, we can all agree that excessive risk-taking by financial institutions, irresponsible decisions by lenders and borrowers, and market-distorting government policies all played a role," Bush said in the book's foreword. "The question now is which policies we should adopt to fix the problems, speed the recovery, and lay the foundation for another long, steady expansion."

Glassman said ideas in the book for stimulating the economy include broad tax reform that would keep taxes low - extending the Bush-era tax cuts put into place over 10 years ago, broadening the tax base by getting rid of special exemptions and loopholes, taxing consumption rather than income and lowering corporate taxes.

Glassman said the book also touches on immigration policy and its effect on the economy, advocating for a policy that would help "attract the smartest people from around the world."

Glassman also said that the hope is that the idea of focusing on growth will become part of the conversation this election season.

"Certainly Republicans and Democrats can disagree on how to get growth," Glassman said. "Some people say, 'Well, the best way to get growth is through government spending.' We disagree with that, but that certainly is a position to take. We say cut government spending, reform taxes, change immigration policy and so on."

Since leaving office, Bush largely has avoided the political scene, instead focusing on the work of his institute, traveling to Africa to promote a partnership to fight cervical and breast cancer in sub-Saharan Africa, and holding events to honor the nation's troops, including joining them on bike rides across rugged Texas terrain.

I will always feel that President Bush was treated with malice starting with the outcome of the contested election results. For the next eight years, the man was demonized and treated with such disrespect the likes that I have never seen before.

I supported George W. Bush, not because he was a Republican and a moderate, but because I could agree with his policies about 95% of the time. I really wish I could, but I'm sorry to say that I can't say the same for Barack Hussein Obama's policies.

MSNBC Liberal Love Fest For Obama

Ultra-Liberal Chris Matthews says Obama is "the Perfect American"

That's right! Imagine that!

MSNBC’s ultra-liberal Democrat mouthpiece Chris Matthews apparently has no shame when he starts gushing over President Obama.

While the president has been known to send a “thrill” up Matthews’ leg, the host of MSNBC's "Hardball" took it to another level on Tuesday when he actually had the nerve to call Obama "the perfect American."

Not taking into consideration that Obama has attempted to create a Socialist State in America, or that he doesn't know even the most fundamental of facts regarding our country - such as the number of states or how American Capitalism works - Matthews love fest started hot and heavy.
"Based upon the rhetoric, you’d think the president was a radical lefty and not the center-left politician he actually is based on the record, but then do people care on the right about reality?” Matthews asked.
He posed that question to his two extremely liberal guests, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) and Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson. Then Matthews went on this unbelievable rant, professing his love for the “perfect” Obama who has “never done anything wrong”:

“I want to start with Congressman Ellison. You’ve been victim yourself of some of this crapola, but this crazy yahoo talk, do you think the people who push this stuff, this malarkey over and over again the guy’s somehow — this guy’s done everything right. He’s raised his family right. He’s fought his way all the way to the top of the Harvard Law Review, in a blind test becomes head of the Review, the top editor there.”

“Everything he’s done is clean as a whistle. He’s never not only broken any law, he’s never done anything wrong. He’s the perfect father, the perfect husband, the perfect American. And all they do is trash the guy. And it’s impossible for me to believe they would have said the same thing about a Walter Mondale or a Jimmy Carter or a Bill Clinton. There’s an ethnic piece to this. It’s very hard to nail it down because they always cover it in ideology. But I’ve never heard anybody in this country call its opponent regularly anti-American or non-American.”

Is Matthews really that blind to what Obama has done? Is it all simply because he really can't see what Obama is doing? Is Matthews just a puppet Democrat who used to work for the Democrat politicians? Why does he act as though he is just bought and paid for by the Democrat Party?

The guy has no problems with showing his unfettered support for Obama, or calling those who don't support Obama "racists."

Matthew's whole, "There’s an ethnic piece to this" is his insinuation that we who oppose Obama's policies are "racist". He isn't even clever about it!

Of course, I opposed Bill Clinton's policies - especially his assault weapons ban - so that must have made me a "racist" then as well?

No, because these days it's all about race because Obama is half black. Back in Clinton days, I would have been labeled by the liberal media as being part of the whole "vast Right Wing Conspiracy" that Hilary and guys like Matthews talked so much about.

In today's America, it seems that a guy or gal can't simply be a citizen who disagrees with the liberal point of view without being accused of being something horrible like a racist.

And yes, it's getting old.

So much for having no bias! But really, where is his impartiality? Where is objectivity from Matthews?

And really, where is MSNBC stand on these sorts of rants? Why haven't they reeled in their pro-Obama excuse squad? Why can't a major entity like MSNBC show some impartiality when it comes to there reporting or even in the commentary?

Forget journalistic professional standards. The station has proven itself to violate any and all journalistic professional standards ass they routinely attack Conservatives of any shape and form - while advocating Liberal ideology.

If they are truly a Liberal Only Love Fest Network, then they should have the cojones to declare themself as such and quit masquerading as a News Network when they're obviously not.
