The Fall of Baghdad -- Obama's Legacy

Before the fall of Baghdad, US experts advised the White House that US-made Stinger missiles along with a huge assortment of US made military equipment had fallen into ISIS hands.

U.S. officials with access to U.S. intelligence on Iraq said it appeared "likely/probable" that U.S.-made Stinger missiles have fallen into the hands of Sunni insurgents.

It is possible that Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters acquired them from army bases they have taken over in recent weeks.

The Stinger missile is a shoulder-fired surface-to-air weapon that is used against aircraft.

As ISIS forces advanced through Iraq, concerns have increased that more U.S.-made weaponry could fall into the hands of the radical group.

Iraqi intelligence officials said ISIS fighters managed to take control of two big weapons depots a few weeks before surrounding Baghdad.

Those weapons depots holding some 400,000 items, including AK-47 rifles, rockets and rocket-propelled grenades, artillery shells and mortars were either confiscated or bought and paid for by the American people for Iraq -- all to use to protect itself.

At least that's what the Obama administration said last year.

Fact is, the US government didn't want to bring back serviceable weapons and equipment.

As a result, since the take over of most of Iraq, a quarter of the stockpiles were quickly sent to Syria in order to help the group's comrades there.

The West Point Combating Terrorism Center, reported that the ISIS "now possesses scores of Iraqi military equipment originally provided by the United States, from Humvees and cargo vehicles to small arms."

Peace accords and elections led to a total withdrawal of US forces when in fact we could have left a security force in place. The Obama administration was against it.

Of course Al Qaeda leaders had decided how to conquer Iraq. Just wait until the Americans leave. After all, the Liberal Media and Democrats all screamed for a date of withdrawal -- as if the enemy was not listening.

Their tactics were designed so that a series of major military offensives would bring the population to the point of revolution and permit a conclusive victory.

Al Qaeda and the Taliban were well aware of the disarray in American foreign policy and the anti-War politics of those in power since President George W. Bush left office.

This year, they decided to test the waters.

One section at a time, one city at a time, it conquered all around Baghdad.

Regular units from Iran, supplemented by local insurgents, routed the Iraq army in just a few weeks.

Hundreds of Iraqi troops were killed or captured, and American military supplies worth Billions of dollars were lost to the invaders.

All of this was scarcely noted in the American news media. The Liberal left made sure of that.

Washington had pledged to "respond with decisive military force" to any North Vietnamese violation of the 1973 accords Al Qaeda or Iranian threat -- but had refused to because that war was not "popular".

In the end, however, the US did nothing at all, and Hanoi Al Qaeda was encouraged to continue.

Yes, almost the exact same scenario took place 39 years ago in South Vietnam.

Back then, the Democrats promised support and never gave it.

The president refused to send troops, and soon all of the almost 59,000 lives lost in Vietnam meant very little as the country was overrun.

In the case of South Vietnam, it was the Communists from the North.

They enjoyed support from men like the present Secretary of State John Kerry; they saw the protests and the political problems facing our country; and they knew the mainstream media was so liberal that it was a de facto supporter of Communism.

Vietnam became a closed nation for many years after the Fall of Saigon, and when reports started to surface from European news sources what was taking place -- America's Left never mentioned a word about how wrong they were.

Yes, it is estimated that 2.5 Million people were killed out right or died after being sent to "re-education camps after the Fall of Saigon.

While the Liberal Left in America are always talking about how much care and concern they have for the plight of others in other countries, they turn a blind eye to the millions who have been slaughtered.

But hey, what should any of us expect from Liberals who openly side with the Communist ideology.

While the Communists celebrate April 30th as a day of victory over Capitalism and the United States, among Vietnamese refugees who settled in the United States and in many other countries -- the week of April 30th is referred to as "Black April."

It is used as a time of commemoration of the Fall of Saigon.

April 30th is a date which signifies American abandonment.

When Baghdad falls, and I believe it will soon, it will be like déjà vu all over again.

And yes, again the world can mark down another date which signifies American abandonment of its commitments to other nations.

Japan may want to take note of this because I honestly believe that it may be time for them to reorganize their military out of fear that America will not live up to its promise to protect them if they are attacked.

I don't think American promises are worth a dime while Obama is in office. If Korea attacks Japan, I fear they will be on their own and Obama will not move to help them as agreed upon in out treaty with them.

I see the same thing taking place in Baghdad right now. Obama is already making excuses why his administration will allow that nation to fall into the hands of radical Islam.

Unlike in the case of South Vietnam, with the fall of Baghdad there is a great deal more at stake.

But that doesn't matter, because even the security of the region, oil production, the enslavement of a people, the American men and and women who died to free them, and a concern of our own security, nothing matters enough to get Obama off the golf course and do what is right for America.

Incompetent, pathetic, coward, a man who cares nothing about the lives lost there, Obama's place in history rests on what he does very soon.

While Obama thinks his legacy will be ObamaCare, he is wrong.

If he does nothing and stop the establishment of a radical Islamic State where a free Iraq once stood, then the Fall of Baghdad will be Obama's true Legacy.

Very soon, we will all watch as American History repeats itself in Iraq.

Though the numbers of troops killed there are drastically different from the almost 59,000 killed in action in Vietnam -- all of the troops that we lost in Iraq will go down in history as being lost for nothing because Obama allowed for the Fall of Baghdad to take place when it didn't need to happen.

I was there and saw the people flee for their lives when the Fall of Saigon took place. And honestly, never would I have thought that American politicians hadn't learned enough to stop it from happening again.

Obama's true legacy will be the Fall of Baghdad and the establishment of an Islamic state which terrorizes the free world.
Yes, that's the way I see it.
